Service Description

This is a 30-day course on toxic whiteness and how it interferes with the education and well-being of Black children, and how to stop the violence. Why You Need This Course There’s enough research-based evidence available for you to know that Black kids are failing, but not because the children are incompetent. Instead, it’s because most white teachers bring racial bias into every interaction with Black kids, which alters the teacher’s ability to be effective in relating to students. This course IS for pre-school and K-12 teachers, administrators, counselors, and paraprofessionals serving Black students in any capacity, including after-school program staff and other educational service providers. This course is NOT for antagonists who want to dispute the truth, argue, minimize the reality, or center the feelings of whiteness. I reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone I deem antagonistic or problematic. What This Course Is and Is Not • This course is NOT diversity training. Diversity is not the problem; lack of accountability is. Diversity and inclusion efforts are futile without first addressing systemic racism and anti-blackness. • There are NO CEUs. I do not offer CEUs for my anti-racism training. I will not provide credit for people to be decent human beings. • This course IS anti-racism training. The failure rates of Black students are directly related to systemic and systematic racism and oppression. We must address racism. What You’ll Learn • Five ways diversity and inclusion initiatives fail Black students. • Five reasons why effectively serving Black students requires an anti-racism plan and how to create your own plan. • Five ways teachers fail Black students before the first day of school. • Five ways teachers feed Black students into the school-to-prison pipeline. • Five actions to take to begin cultivating an anti-racist school environment. About the Session This course is pre-recorded, and you will receive a separate session recording each week. The sessions cover these topics: • Session 1. Why diversity and inclusion efforts fail Black students. • Session 2. Five ways teachers fail Black students before the first day of school. • Session 3. Five ways teachers feed Black students into the school-to-prison pipeline. • Session 4. How to create your anti-racism plan. • Session 4, Part 2. What actual equity and anti-racist schools look like.
